Uy libre! Erap distributes school supplies to Manila kids
Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada has a little treat for schoolchildren in his city as they go back to school.
Estrada together with personnel of the Manila Social Welfare Department distributed school supplies to 1,500 preschoolers at the San Andres Sports Complex.
The students received school bags, pencils, jogging pants, shoes, and hygiene kits.
Inside the hygiene kit are toothbrush, toothpaste, towels, and soap.
“In Manila, we assure you that all preschoolers will be given genuine care and concern,” the veteran politiko said.
He promised to take care of every Manileños and attend to their needs for as long as he is mayor.
“Everyone, young and old, will be assisted sufficiently, and more,” he said.
He added that he gets inspired by parents who sacrifice to give the best for their children.
“To you, parents and young children, I draw inspiration from you to serve you faithfully and properly,” said the mayor.
“Our goal is that while the kids are in Day Care, they will enjoy and learn and be happy with their fellow children,” he added.
The distribution of school supplies is under the Early Childhood Care and Development Program of the MSWD to highlight the initiative of the city’s “Bata at Matanda, Alaga sa Maynila.”
Estrada said about 28,500 preschoolers will benefit from the program.
