Kapos sa sahod: Nurses group seeks salary hike
Their meager salary isn’t just enough.
A group of nurses has sought an increase in their salaries citing the rising prices of basic commodities.
In a statement, the Filipino Nurses United lamented that nurses receive a minimum pay of P8,000 monthly.
“Nurses, especially in public hospitals deserve decent pay and the government’s urgent attention if there is genuine sincerity to save the lives of millions of Filipinos,” FNU secretary general Jocelyn Andamo said.
The group is pushing for an entry salary of P30,000 for nurses in government and private hospitals.
President Duterte has increased the salary of military and police. He likewise bared plan to adjust the salary of teachers but not doubled just like he did to uniformed personnel.
