Fearless forecast: Makabayan solons predict Duterte satisfaction to drop further due to ‘anti-poor’ policies

It’s all downhill from here.
This was the prediction of lawmakers from the militant Makabayan bloc on the satisfaction ratings of President Rodrigo Duterte, which has dropped two points in the latest Social Weather Stations poll from +58 in December 2017 to +56.
The two-point slump was attributed to a whopping 11-point skid in Balance Luzon and a one-point drop in Metro Manila.
Duterte’s satisfaction rating among the Class E also sank a staggering 17 points, from +65 in December 2017 to +48.
ACT Teacher’s party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio said in a media briefing Thursday (April 12) that this would be a “trend for the future” as Duterte continues to push for “anti-poor” policies.
Tinio also said Duterte only managed to maintain his high satisfaction rating by lying low, distancing himself from controversial issues and letting his subordinates’ heads roll.
Even with the “very good” satisfaction rating, Duterte’s mass base has began to erode, Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Zarate said.
