‘Di kayo mag-isa: Joy Belmonte to roll out more programs for solo parents
Solo parents in Quezon City can expect more from the city government.
Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte recently presented more programs intended for solo parents in her city.
These include livelihood support program under Belmonte’s “Tindahan ni Ate Joy”, entrepreneurship program, establishment of community college program and access to health care.
Tindahan ni Ate Joy and women’s entrepreneurship programs have been undertaken in partnership with Rags2Riches, Department of Trade and Industry, Sea Oil, Araneta Center, and Smart Foundation.
Registered single parents can also showcase their products in several booths at AliMall for free.
Out of the 20 million solo parents in the country, 430,000 of them reside in Quezon City.
Of the figure, only 21,000 have registered with the QC Social Services Development Department.
