Para handa lahat: Muntinlupa to play disaster informercials in cinemas, theaters
Muntinlupa government would want to make sure that its citizens are ready when the Big One strikes.
The city recently passed Ordinance 17-708 which mandates movie houses, theaters and recreational areas to allot screening time for informercials on disaster risk reduction before the start of every show.
Councilor Stephanie Teves is at the helm on this project where she talked with cinema and theater operators and owners of similar establishments to provide a free three to five minutes airtime for the infomercials.
This is a first project of its kind in the National Capital Region.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi earlier vowed to remain committed in capacitating and preparing Muntinlupa residents on natural hazards and calamities being situated in the West Valley Fault.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office in coordination with the City Public Information Office will produce the video to be presented in cinemas.
