DOLE: 5,000 jobs at EDSA Day fair in QC
Some 5,000 jobs will be up for grabs this weekend as the Department of Labor and Employment holds a job fair to mark the 32nd anniversary of the EDSA-1 revolt.
The DOLE said its “Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan” job and business fair – and distribution of iDOLE OFW cards – will be held at the Quezon City Hall on Sunday, Feb. 25.
DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III said the jobs are offered by at least 15 participating employers and recruitment agencies.
Citing a report from the DOLE Metro Manila officer, 442 vacancies are to be offered by local employers. These are for:
– sales associate
– management trainee
– cashier/counter checker
– accounting assistant
– graphic artist
– account sales executive
– IT programmer
– sales administrative assistant
– mechanical engineer
– merchandising assistant
Another 5,000 job orders are from 10 participating recruitment agencies through the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration. These include:
– ground steward
– medical technologist
– factory worker
– sales staff
– air traffic controller
The foreign destinations include Qatar, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Papua New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, and Malaysia.
Jobseekers should bring requirements such as:
– resume or curriculum vitae (extra copies for multiple job applications)
– 2×2 ID pictures
– certificate of employment for those formerly employed
– diploma and/or transcript of records
– authenticated birth certificate
