Duterte appoints Jose Garcia as MMDA OIC general manager
President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Jose Arturo Garcia Jr as officer-in-charge general manager of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
Garcia is not new to MMDA as he previously served as the agency’s assistant general manager for planning wherein he oversaw the implementation of major policies such as the yellow lanes and the proposed high-occupancy vehicle lane.
He will replace Thomas Orbos who had been serving as MMDA general manager concurrent with his position as transportation undersecretary.
Orbos will remain as undersecretary with his appointment papers signed last Feb. 6.
Garcia’s appointment papers were signed by the President on Feb. 9.
