Natakot kay Bato? Mandaluyong cop surrenders
Senior Inspector Maria Cristina Vasquez did not wait for 24 hours to pass before turning over herself to the police.
Vasquez, one of the Mandaluyong cops relieved over the deadly Dec. 28 shooting incident surrendered Wednesday.
She surfaced just hours after Philippine National Police chief Dir. Gen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa warned Vasquez to surrender immediately or else she should suffer the consequences of her action.
“Kung nakikinig ‘yong policewoman na ‘yon, sana nakikinig ka. Magiging subject ka ng manhunt operations kapag lumabas ang warrant mo kawawa ka,” Dela Rosa said at a press conference Wednesday morning.
Vasquez went absent without official leave (AWOL) after the bloody incident.
She and other cops and barangay watchmen involved in the shooting are now facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting to double homicide, and reckless imprudence resulting to frustrated homicide.
