Slow down po! Speed limit on EDSA reduced
Motorists traversing EDSA have to follow a new speed limit.
The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced Wednesday that from 60 kilometers per hour (kph), the speed limit will be reduced to only 50 kph.
“Na-i-propose dito through sa congressional hearing namin na ibaba ang speed limit. From 60, binaba natin ‘yan ng 50 kilometers per hour,” said MMDA assistant general manager for planning Jojo Garcia said.
He said the measure was approved during a meeting with the Metro Manila Council (MMC) which serves as the policy-making body of the MMDA.
Garcia said the reduced speed limit is intended to further minimize vehicular accidents on the 24-kilometer long highway.
Keep calm and travel safe!
