DPWH to start construction of 2 Manila bridges from China next year

The government will start the construction of two state-of-the-art bridges in Manila donated by China next year.

This was announced by Public Works Secretary Mark Villar following the ceremonial signing of agreement on the bridge projects with his Chinese counterpart Deputy Director General Zeng Hua of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce last Wednesday.

The signing was witnessed by no less than President Rodrigo Duterte and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, who made an official visit in Manila after attending the ASEAN Summit.

The construction of Binondo-Intramuros and Estrella-Pantaleon bridge projects is expected to be completed in 2021.

The P5-billion worth bridges are expected to decongest traffic in Manila, Makati and Mandaluyong.

Xie xie, China!
