Walang pasok! Classes suspended in Metro Manila due to Salome

Classes were suspended in Metro Manila on Friday and some parts of Luzon due to Tropical Depression “Salome”.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Salome intensified into a tropical storm, bringing more rain in affected areas.

As of 7 a.m., the lists of classes suspended in Metro Manila are as follows: Caloocan, Las Pinas, Malabon City, Mandaluyong, Manila, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Paranaque, Pasig, Pateros, San Juan, Taguig, Pasay, Quezon City, and Valenzuela.

In Calabarzon region, classes are suspended in Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Quezon province, Angono, Morong, Tanay, Taytay in Rizal.

Classes are also suspended in Bataan; Bocaue, Bulacan; Camarines Sur; Buenavista, Marinduque; and Calapan, Oriental Mindoro.

The state weather bureau said Salome was located 55 kilometers (km) southwest of Subic, Zambales and has maintained its maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 100 kph.

Bataan and Southern Zambales are now under signal number 2.

Signal No. 1 is hoisted over Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas, rest of Zambales and the rest of northern Occidental Mindoro.

Salome is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Saturday morning.
