Erap to the rescue! Manila Mayor Estrada sends aid to fire victims in Sampaloc

Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada proves that he has a big heart for the poor and helpless people.

The veteran politiko promptly tasked the Manila Department of Social Welfare and Development to send aid to the victims of a huge fire in Sampaloc last Wednesday.

“We will ensure that they are in safe grounds. They are now housed temporarily in an evacuation center,” Estrada said.

Fire broke out in Barangay 455, Sampaloc around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, while most people were busy for the observance of All Saints’ Day. It was declared out around 12:00 midnight of Thursday.

About 25 families or 128 individuals were affected by the blaze.

Estrada said the local government will ensure that food, shelter and other basic needs will be provided for the victims.

He likewise assured that the city health office would also monitor the health conditions of the displaced persons to avoid spread of diseases.

Ikaw na talaga, mayor!
