Trabaho pa more! 2k Metro Manila residents to get free skills training from TESDA
More than 2,000 jobless residents of Metro Manila will soon have an opportunity to land a job.
This was after the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Metro Manila Mayors’ Spouses Foundation, Inc. (MMMSFI) last Tuesday that will provide free skills training for poor Manila residents.
About 2,244 scholarships slots will be provided for the marginalized sector, especially the urban poor and the disadvantaged women.
The free skills training aims to equip beneficiaries with adequate skills which they could use in finding jobs.
Among the trainings that will be offered are hair coloring/bleaching, hair cut, facial treatment, foot spa, make-up and manicure and pedicure.
Aside from free skills training, the beneficiaries will also be given starter tool kits.
TESDA is targeting to start the program by November.
The MMMSFI is a group dedicated to protect the lives of Metro Manila residents, particularly women and children.
