If he could only have his way, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV on Wednesday said he would have given a knock on the head President Duterte to make him realize how unbelievable his latest allegation against him.
Trillanes was irate over the insinuations of Duterte that former Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) executive director Julia Bacay-Abad, who the President suspected as his alleged informant on his purported secret bank accounts, is also the lawmaker’s alleged kept woman.
“I categorically deny itong panibagong imbentong storya ni Mr. Duterte. In this case, Abad na kilala bilang isang disente at pamilyadong tao na naging propesyunal sa kanyang paglingkod bilang executive director ng AMLC,” he said.
The senator said the President is only trying to muddle the issue and deflect public attention and evade his challenge to issue a bank waiver to disprove his allegations on the existence of his secret bank accounts.
Trillanes said he’s only familiar with Abad having been a resource person of Senate in past public hearings, specifically the investigation on former Vice President Jejomar Binay on alleged secret bank accounts.
Talagang nakakadismaya. Pilit na nyang ginagawa yan nood pa. Napupusoy lang sya at every turn kaya walang substantial nadudulot ang pagka-intriga,” he said, referring to Duterte’s claims against another known staunch critic, Sen. Leila de Lima.
