Quezon City government to donate P1M to Rotary

The Quezon City government will donate P1 million the Rotary International District 3780 Foundation, Inc. for the support of its annual Golden Wheel Awards for vocational excellence.

The Quezon City Council, through City Resolution 6961-2017 introduced by Councilor Karl Edgar C. Castelo, has authorized Mayor Herbert Bautista to grant P1-million financial aid to RI District 3780 to help defray the expenses of the organization in granting the prestigious award.

“In line with the effort of the Rotary International District 3780 to institutionalize the annual award, it is with utmost pride that Quezon City bequeaths the amount of One Million Pesos to Rotary International for it to be able to continue granting the Golden Wheel Award and the honor that goes with it,” Mayor Bautista said.

Rotary International District 3780 consists of all the 96 Rotary clubs in Quezon City. It was formally established by Rotary International in out of then District 378 with about 55 Rotary Clubs. Since then, District 3780 has held the distinction of being probably the only “one-city, one-district” in the entire Rotary world.
