QC to provide P1M assistance to ‘Juan Luna’ film
The Quezon City local government will give P1 million financial assistance to the film company that will produce the biographical film on the life of national artist Juan Luna.
The Quezon City Council approved City Resolution 7053-2017, introduced by Councilors Franz S. Pumaren, Godofredo T. Liban II, and Alexis R. Herrera, which authorized the financial grant to Visioncapture Media.
Visioncapture Media will be embarking on a full-length film project on the biography of Juan Luna, a painter, sculptor, a political activist of the Philippine Revolution and the brother of Gen. Antonio Luna.
“It is a form of good governance to utilize the resources and funds of the City as efficiently and effectively as possible to finance the delivery of basic services, and the enhancement of various social and economic activities for prosperity and progress of the people of the City,” the resolution read.
“The grant of the said amount is necessary to promote and provide support to Filipino writers and filmmakers and to inspire other Filipinos in similar outfits,” the resolution added.
