QC to develop 7 properties in 3rd district as social housing sites
Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista said that seven foreclosed properties in the Third District will be developed as socialized housing sites for informal settler families located in Kaingin 1 and 2, Barangay Pansol.
The seven properties forfeited in favor of the government have a total land area of 8,456 square meters.
Councilor Kate Abigael Coseteng introduced the City Resolution 7110-2017 urging Bautista to develop the said foreclosed properties into housing sites.
Among the programs of the city government’s Housing, Community Development and Resettlement Department is the inclusion of the said foreclosed properties in the Local Development Investment Plan for brisker development.
Like the national government, the QC government adopted an “area for priority development” of socialized housing in the programs and policies for informal settler families in Kaingin 1, Barangay Pansol.
The area has been on a struggle for security but its inclusion in the list of priority development has freed it from the stress the said struggle has been causing.
The resolution also underscored the importance of affordable and decent housing for informal settler families in Kaingin 1 and 2 and to guarantee the security of their land tenure.
