Help! Hostage crisis happening in Congress – Imee Marcos
If there is terrorism in Marawi City, there is a hostage crisis in Congress.
This is what Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos described about the detention of the so-called “Ilocos six” by the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability.
Because of the detention of the six provincial employees, Marcos lamented many services in her province have been suspended.
Those detained by the House Committee since May 29 are provincial planning and development officer Pedro Agcaoili, provincial budget officer Evangeline Tabulog, provincial treasurer Josephine Calajate, accountant Eden Battulayan, and treasury office staff members Genedine Jambaro and Encarnacion Gaor.
The Committee detained the six for refusing to answer questions during its inquiry over the anomalous purchase of P66.45 million worth of vehicles using the province’s tobacco excise tax share.
