Magre-relax lang ba talaga? Alejano finds Duterte’s absence suspicious
Magdalo party-list Rep. Gary Alejano smells something fishy with President Rodrigo Duterte’s absence in the public eye for four days now.
Alejano, who filed an impeachment case against the President, said it is “very unusual” for Duterte not to be seen in public especially since there’s an ongoing crisis in Marawi City.
“People cannot help but speculate about the status of [the] President’s health. Malacañang should be forthright in informing the public about this. [The] President’s health is a national security issue,” the lawmaker said in a text message Thursday (June 15).
Duterte has not been seen in public since June 12, when he skipped the Independence Day rites at Luneta.
Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said the President is just taking a rest after having a “brutal sked” in the past weeks. He said there is nothing to worry about Duterte’s health.
According to the Philippine Star, the President will not have any public engagement until June 18.
