Jinggoy disses Leila for thinking Senate needs her to function: Kung kami ni Bong, JPE di pinayagan, ikaw pa!

Former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada scoffed at detained Sen. Leila de Lima’s plan to attend Senate sessions.

‎Estrada said that the upper chamber can continue its functions even without her.

“In fact, they don’t even need your vote! You should know that! You’re supposed to be a topnotch lawyer, right?” Estrada posted in his Facebook account, in reaction to De Lima’s petition to continue her official functions even remotely or through electronic means.

The Liberal Party senators have backed ‎de Lima’s plan to participate in Senate sessions while in detention for drug trafficking.

Estrada said it was unlikely that the court would grant her request given that he had tried to employ the same in the past but failed.

Marami kang taga-suporta? Nagkakamali ka!” he said.

Estrada pointed out that even when former Senators Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. and Juan Ponce Enrile were placed under detention, the upper chamber’s legislative mill continued functioning.

“They can easily muster a quorum with or without us (three), eh ikaw pa? Nag-iisa ka lang?” he pointed out.

“Just an unsolicited advice to you Madam Leila, I don’t think you should push through with your plan of filing a motion before the court for you to attend the Senate sessions. That will prove to be an exercise in futility,” Estrada said.

Salamat po,” he said.
