Libre to! Mayor Rex offers summer talent workshops

The city government of Valenzuela is now offering free summer workshops for Valenzuela kids and teens who wants to learn about painting, acting, singing and dancing.

Mayor Rex Gatchalian, who attended the ongoing Arts in the City Summer Workshop on Monday (April 17), said any local resident can sign up with the program, which will run for two whole months.
“Any resident can register. It’s free. Will run whole summer months of April and May,” Gatchalian said in a text message to Politiko.

So far, about 1,200 participants have joined the summer workshops.

Gatchalian said the summer workshop aims to enhance the arts and music skills of children as well as to make them productive during the lengthy summer break.

“It’s a fun way to spend summer — similar to the paid programs we see in exclusive schools — but this is free,” he added.
