#ThankYouMayor! Erap brings free health services to Manileños
Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada will lead this week the “Kalinga ni Erap III” comprehensive medical fair aimed at bringing healthcare services closer to the communities.
Estrada expects at least 1,000 underprivileged city residents to benefit from the day-long medical-dental mission scheduled Wednesday, April 5, at Dapitan Sports Complex and on April 7 at
Tondo Sports Complex.
“As we all know, health is wealth. That is why we’ve been putting a premium on the health of every Manileño,” the politiko said.
Thousands of poor Manileños from across the city have benefited from the Kalinga ni Erap program since Estrada introduced it in 2015.
The services under the program include general consultation, free medicines, and laboratory tests such as complete blood count (CBC), sugar, and cholesterol tests; bone density scanning and screening, dialysis, and electrocardiogram (ECG); breast scanning, and most importantly, HIV-AIDS testing.
Dental services on the other hand include tooth extraction, prophylaxis, and dental cleaning.
Estrada said free reading glasses will also be distributed to senior citizens and those needing one. Last year, 2,000 glasses were provided to beneficiaries.
