Magkalevel na: Tonchi Tinio bonds with Ate Vi over committee ouster

The Makabayan bloc would be happy to welcome the Star for All Seasons to their side.

ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio may have transformed into a full-fledged Vilmanian after the Batangas congresswoman bravely voted against death penalty. Tinio and Batangas Rep. Vilma Santos-Recto were among the 11 committee chairmen forcibly removed by the House leadership after opposing the Palace-backed measure.

After the announcement was made, Santos and Tinio were even seen all smiles at the House plenary with fellow anti-death penalty advocates Emmi de Jesus, Carlos Zarate, and Evelina Escudero.

Tinio used to chair the committee on public information, while Ate Vi headed the committee on civil service.

Welcome to the club!
