Paki-veto naman, Mayor! Joy Belmonte hopes for seniors’, PWDs’ real estate tax

Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte supports her colleague, Mayor Herbert Bautista for sure. But, she also knows when to call him out when she thinks

On her Facebook account, the Politiko shared a news article on Mayor Bistek’s veto of the city ordinance protecting the rights of the marginalized status for a lower real property tax. VM Joy expressed that the senior citizens, Persons with Disability and single parents are entitled and deserving of a discount, given their condition and other circumstances.

“Hoping Mayor HB reconsiders and reverses his veto of our ordinances providing discounts to vulnerable sectors like senior citizens and solo parents to cushion the impact of real property tax increases resulting from the adjustment of Fair Market Values.”

The Politiko has been vocal about the issue, and has been on interviews on TV and radio.

“Interview with TV Patrol about the ordinances granting senior citizens and solo parents discounts in the payment of their increased real property taxes.”

VM Joy has been actively campaigning and doing all things possible for the ordinance be reconsidered, until it is finally approved and signed by Mayor Bistek.

She expressed: “These ordinances were vetoed by our beloved Mayor but the City Council is appealing to him for reconsideration of the veto, following petitions from these vulnerable sectors.”
