Mayor Olivarez assures no tax hike in Paranaque City

Paranaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez has vowed no increase of taxes in the city for the year 2017.

He said the city has not raised its taxes for the past years including their fair market value and the real property tax.

“For the past how many years di kami nagtataas ng buwis. Ang aming revenue code is the same, ang aming fair market value real property tax di kami nagtataas,” Olivares told Politiko in an interview.

The Mayor added that imposing new taxes is not the solution to reach revenue targets for the city.

“Ang aming pakiramdam dito additional burden yan sa ating mga tax payers. Ang kailangan lang po ay efficiency collections (of taxes),” he explained.

Olivarez, meanwhile, called on all businesses and taxpayers in the city to pay their correct taxes to help the city government raise revenues needed for the effective and efficient delivery of basic social and economic services to the people.
