QC gives P10M aid for Pandi town for informal settlers
The Quezon City government will extend P10 million to the Municipality of Pandi, Bulacan for the 4,982 informal settler families relocated from QC to a National Housing Authority (NHA)-designated resettlement site in the said town.
Of the amount, P6 million has been earmarked to cover payment for the operational requirements of the Department of Education Region III – Division of Pandi North, to include, salaries and honoraria of local school board teachers, electricity bills, installation of water pump, provision of sports equipment and audio-visual room with equipment, other supplementary teaching materials and construction of school fences.
Meanwhile, the remaining P4 million shall be set aside to fund various health, sanitation and livelihood programs that will be implemented by the Municipality of Pandi, Bulacan in the resettlement sites.
To date, the 36-member QC Council has already given Mayor Herbert Bautista the authority to enter into an agreement with Mayor Celestino Marquez to formalize the grant of the financial assistance to the Municipality of Pandi, Bulacan by virtue of a resolution confirmed by the QC Council in December 2016.
Prior to the approval of the measure, Mayor Marquez has already sought the assistance of the QC government for the delivery of basic services to the nearly 5,000 ISFs relocated from QC.
