Lacson protege Romeo Acop gets public order committee

Antipolo Rep, Romeo Acop has been appointed chair of the House Committee on Public Order and Safety.

His appointment coincides with the selection of his former boss, Sen. Ping Lacson, as chair of the Senate Committee on Public Order.

A former police general, Acop resigned along with then Philippine National Police Chief Lacson in January 2001 just days before the ouster of then President Joseph Estrada.

Acop is a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy batch 1970. He graduated cum laud from the Jose Rizal University law school.
